What We Offer

Gamers’ Haunt is once again hosting its popular summer day camp for Magic: The Gathering! Magic is a trading card game that helps players develop close reading, logical thinking, social, and math skills. Whether your camper is just learning the game or is a long-time player, there is a camp for them. Each camp will include all of the Magic: the Gathering things that will be needed from cards, and decks, to playmats, and a summer Gamers’ Haunt t-shirt! We will also spend time walking to parks, playing Four Square and other games!

Each week-long camp is designed for kids aged 8-17, depending on their level of experience. The cost for Early Bird Registration (Jan 1st – April 1st) is $350 per week. Starting April 2nd registration will become $400 per week. In addition, a $50 discount is applied when registering siblings OR for multiple weeks. Please contact Gamers’ Haunt at gamershaunt@gmail.com for information on scholarship availability. You can pay your registration fee over the phone, in person, or online through an emailed invoice.

What will your campers need to bring?
A packed lunch, additional snacks, a water bottle, sunscreen, a change of clothes (because you never know), their favorite magic decks, and any necessary medication (with instructions).

Beginner Basics! (for the less experienced)
June 23rd – 27th for ages 8-14

This camp is for players aged 8-14, who are just starting out or want to learn a new format! We’ll spend the week focusing on popular formats like Standard, Commander, and Kitchen Table. We will begin by building custom decks and campers will play against each other throughout the remainder of the week. This week will also include preconstructed decks, playmats, deck boxes, and sleeves, as well as prize support for games. All of the things a new Magic player who wants more time to play and learn will need! In the afternoons we will walk to the park for some outdoor sunshine as well

Next Level Limited (for the intermediate player)
July 21st – 25th for ages 10-17

This week is open to players aged 10-17 who have a firm grasp of the basic rules of the game and how to build a deck. It will focus primarily on Limited formats, specifically Sealed, Draft, and Cube. Campers will learn how to build an array of 40-card decks and will have the chance to practice what it’s like to be in a prerelease setting. Lastly, we will end this camp with an included entrance into the 2 pm Friday Prerelease for Edge of Eternities. Camp will end at 6 pm that Friday to allow your camper(s) to sit through the entire event and test their skills!

Mighty Commanders! (for the less experienced)
August 4th – 8th for ages 8-14

This camp is for players aged 8-14, all experience levels are welcome! We’ll spend the week focusing on the popular Commander format. We will begin the week drafting and building custom Commander decks. This week will include preconstructed Commander decks, playmats, deck boxes, and sleeves, as well as prize support for games. All of the things a new Magic player who wants more time to play and learn will need! In the afternoons we will walk to the park for some outdoor sunshine as well.
